Summary: Just a little drabble about Byakuya, snow, and the servant he grew up with, Tsukiko (based on Kira and I’s RP) - because I wanted to write about a happy Byakuya for a change e.e Tsukiko, for those that don’t know of our RP, is the servant that basically has been with Byakuya his entire life, and is, as far as Kira and I know, his only real friend. She is also very good at making him pretty. X3
Music: M-Flo loves melody. and Yamamoto Ryorei - Miss You (Free TEMPO Mix). Very dreamy sounding. Also inspired by this picture. BYAKUYA IS SO PURTY.

Byakuya blinked as something wet and cold dusted down his face. He stopped at the edge of the park’s entrance and extended his hand, watching as soft, white flakes ghosted over his palm.
Snow. That was something he had not seen in a long while. He lifted his head up, catching the brunt of a breeze and shutting his eyes against the snowflakes that blew over his face and through his hair in a flurry of white.
“Come see, Byakuya-sama! It’s so beautiful outside!”
The teenager blinked and rose from his reclined position as Tsukiko excitedly waved at him from the window. Blue-grey eyes widened slightly at the sight of the Kuchiki gardens coated in a layer of what seemed like white glitter with only more of the shimmering stuff tumbling from the sky.
“Snow,” he murmured, only to have his enthralled stare broken by a tug on his arm.
“Let’s go outside in it,” Tsukiko suggested, the woman’s copper-brown eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Byakuya visibly hesitated, but his servant seemed so adamant that he had no reason to refuse her. He had, afterall, been inside the entire week when he wasn’t training. There had to be at least one thing enjoyable about his week off from the academy.
Tsukiko led the way from Byakuya’s room, stepping into the gardens with little regard to the cold. The young noble shivered, but endured it, too fascinated by the glimmer of white coating the ground and foliage to turn away.
It was beautiful; the entire place seemed to be crystallized. Byakuya sucked in a slow breath, enjoying the sting of frigid cold in his lungs and the breathless feeling left in the cold’s wake. It was… rejuvenating.
A sudden burst of cold hit the back of his neck, spread through his hair and down his spine. He spun, kicking up snow in his wake and biting back a yelp at the icy glaze of cold that crept down the silk of his kimono and down his back. Tsukiko, several paces away, simply smiled and scooped another handful of snow. This time, Byakuya had the knowledge to duck.
“Byakuya-sama daydreams too much,” she taunted, then found herself cut off by a particularly well-aimed snowball that hit her right in the face, She sputtered, wiped snow from her eyes and laughed, her next shot only narrowly missing her charge.
“Perhaps you should mind your place,” Byakuya shot back playfully, wiping refrozen snow from his eyelashes and reaching for yet another handful.
“Perhaps she should.”
The voice cut through their laughter, silencing the Kuchiki heir and his servant almost immediately. Byakuya’s father stood about a foot into the snow, an eyebrow arched elegantly as he regarded the two.
“Ah - my apologies, Kuchiki-sama - “ Tsukiko bowed deeply, once-pristine black hair tumbling from its braid. “This was my idea - “
“Go inside and speak to Manami,” the elder Kuchiki curtly interrupted. “Tell her I sent you, and she will know to punish you.”
As the young woman nodded, straightened and walked off in as dignified manner as she could manage while being covered in snow, the head of the Kuchiki household turned his gaze to his son. Byakuya tried not to fidget.
“…Go inside and change,” the man crossly ordered after a moment’s observation of his son. “And think twice the next time you let that woman lead you into disarray. She is a servant; avoid fraternizing with her unnecessarily.”
Byakuya artfully swallowed back several protests that Tsukiko was not just a servant, but a companion worthy of his time, and simply nodded before elegantly stepping through the snow. “Yes, father.” As he stepped into his room, he made sure to shut the door too loudly, thus shaking the branches of a nearby tree and dropping a fair amount of snow onto the man’s head.
Snow was always a useful thing. Byakuya smiled inwardly and turned away from the park, heading on his way once more. The next time he was visited the living world in the winter, he would try to let Tsukiko tag along. If nothing else, she could enjoy daydreaming in the snow with him.
