So where did Three Parts Dead come from? Well, after much struggling on both Kira and Gali's parts to come up with a name, Kira found this quote:

"To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead."

Considering this entire work of fiction is based around the struggles surrounding Byakuya and Renji's relationship - especially Byakuya's emotional 'hang-ups' and ultimately, his fear of what loving Renji will do to him - this quote fits extremely well. Kudos to Kira for finding it! ♥
